Scrambling will take you off the beaten track onto adventurous routes in sensational settings. It requires specific skills and basic rope techniques to be done safely. Lake District or North Wales for 2 days or more.

Ratio: 1:4 for grade 1. 1:2 for Grade 2/3.

Introduction to Scrambling

This course is ideal for the summer hillwalker who is looking to go to those steeper, more exposed places. During the course we will look at the techniques, skills and equipment required to make this possible as well as doing some classic scrambles in the process.

Advanced Scrambling

Whilst the more challenging Grade 2 and 3 scrambles open the door for some spectacular mountaineering, they call for an increased use of simple ropework techniques. The focus of this course will be learning to apply these techniques practically.
