Kirriemuir and Glen Clova

Kirriemuir 1I’ve just returned from a weekend of stress-free sports climbing and hill walking with Laura, Becky and Will. On Saturday we visited the recently developed quarried sandstone crag at Kirriemuir. This friendly, well bolted crag offers a range of grades from beginner friendly 3s upwards.

On Sunday we made the short drive North to the head of Glen Clova and spent a pleasant day walking up the munros Dreish and Mayar via Corrie Fee.

Learn to Lead Course

Learn to Lead 1I spent last week teaching two keen climbers how to lead climbs outside. We made most of the excellent weather and visited Cummingston, Logie Head, Kingussie Crag and Huntly’s Cave as well as the girls doing a great job of leading the Cairngorm classic Savage Slit. I was working for Glenmore Lodge this week.
